Swapping The Running Shoes For Wheels...

Maree Jesson ditches her running shoes and pulled out her racer for the inaugural Specialized Silverstone Sportive 100 mile bike ride which took place on July 4th in very sunny and somewhat breezy conditions. Maree said it was, "An enjoyable, but, tough ride, a brisk wind featured heavily!" Maree's time was 6:02:36 and she was 4th Senior Lady overall!

How Many Roundabouts? MK 10K...

The East Midlands Grand Prix series came to a close on 29th June at Milton Keynes. The cross country minibus was dusted off again, Alan hoarding a handful of the team down the motorway to meet those who made the trip by car, rail and motorbike.

Conditions were extremely muggy meaning that the majority of the field slowed down for the second half of the race. Tony Letts completed his 6th race of the series in a time of 38:01 and finished 16th overall in his age category.

Lynton Dawson finished in 41:03 just ahead of Ronnie Ambrose in 42:15. Next to cross the line was Mark Kennedy in 44:37. First lady on the night was Charlotte Yarker in 47:20, recording an impressive PB. Tom Sullivan came home in 49:35 with Rob Donovan chalking up a 51:43 finish.

Dave Knowles finished in 52:54 ahead of Mary Kingsnorth in 55:08. Next to finish was Colin Bricher in 56:38 with Mary Davies completing her 8th race of the series in 59:15. Ann Dickson came home in 59:38 with Pauline Horne finishing in 63:19. Dave Solomon also completed all eight races of the series recording 63:32 in this outing. Patrick Breydin finished in 64:23 and Alan Hackett literally limped over the line in 74:03 after injuring his back.
