The Home Of The Grand Prix 10K...

Nineteen runners from the club showed up for the first race of the East Midlands Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit on 4th May. The course is pure speed for PB freaks and some great times were recorded. Lynton Dawson was first home in 38:35 just ahead of Ronnie Ambrose who is flying at the moment, smashing three minutes off his PB with a 39:06 finish. Keith Jellyman recorded an impressive 39:37 and close by was Rad Nic in 40:09, that 40 minute barrier just eluding him.

Luboslav Krivacka made his NRR debut in 40:56 and Mark Kennedy set a new PB with 41:50. Martin Baker came home in 45:49 and Mick Clarke (he's running again) came 3rd in his age category in 48 minutes exactly. Four seconds behind Mick was Tom Sullivan in 48:04. Jo Lee was the first lady home in 49:28 then was Rob Donovan in 50:11, he looked firmly "in the zone" before the race.

Colin Bricher finished in 53:36 and was closely followed by the two Marys - Kingnorth in 53:38 and Davies in 53:44. Pauline Horne was all the fives with 55:55 and Dave Soloman was close by in 56:47. Jo Cummings finished in 57:44, Patrick Breydin in 59:07 and Marion Bowen capped an impressive turnout in 61:08.
