Eric Humpries Cross Country

Those that managed to skive off work on Wednesday 26th January were treated to perfect condition for the annual running of the Eric Humphries Cross Country organised by Northants Police.  The course is three laps of the beautiful Delapre Abbey.  Seven club runners managed to sweet-talk their bosses and take on the challenge.

Star of the show was Steph Russell who was the first lady home in a time of 44:26.  She then ran back to race HQ to pick up her the trophy that she had been eying before the event.

Gary McDaniels was first male home in an awesome time of 43.59 and finished 15th overall.  Mark Garrett was next in 47:51 and the other Mark (Kennedy) was just behind in 50:29.  Ronnie Ambrose managed an extended lunch break and ran from Brackmills, ran the race in 52:34 and then made the trip back to work.  Jim Anderson enjoyed a great race and smashed the hour mark in 58:03.  Jo Lee, although running for Northants Police (boo hiss) also broke the hour with a 59:05 finish.
