Morecambe Cross Bay

Jocelyn Granger took on the challenge of the Cross Bay Half across Morecambe Bay from Cumbria to Lancashire on Sunday 12th August dodging quicksands and wading through rivers. With no protection from fierce headwinds and stinging rain it was tougher than Charnwood Hills and the Grizzly! It didn't help because Jocelyn forgot her socks and no surprise after about 5 miles started feeling the blisters. There was no option but to run barefoot and leave her shoes behind with a marshall. It was very easy running on the sand and through the water after that and although she has to admit to a PW of 2.05 there's definitely something to be said for this barefoot running craze. In summary - a tough race very dependent on weather conditions and rather boring and featureless.
