Silverstone 10K

Despite driving rain (get it) at Silverstone on 6th May, 17 NRR members turned out for the opening event of the East Midlands Grand Prix series.

The flat and fast course will not have been helped by the weather but there were some great runs all the same.

Tony Letts finished 31st overall in 36:50 and Tom Smith in 40:53 with Dan Gosling (41:15) and Richard Wild (41:27) enjoying a close battle.

Adrian Tuck was next in 43:21 ahead of Pete Moor, just returning from his European adventure at the weekend in 44:39.  Dave Whatton had a good run in 44:48 and Sarah Jones, first lady home for the club, was next in 45:52.

Darren Byfield showed good recovery from London with a 47:05 finish and Jon Dilworth finished his second 10K in three days in 47:58.  Andy (Sharky) Cottrell treated this as a recovery run from Prague (surely) in 48:55 and next was Caroline Powell in 51:21.

Eamon Kennedy finished in 51:26 followed by Mark Lewis in 52:44 and Mary Sullivan in 54:34.  Jo Letts (58:02) and Carole Whatton (64:33) completed a brave line up whilst the rest of us were running round Harlestone Firs.
